Every year, polar bears in Hudson Bay walk up to 5,000 km across the Arctic sea ice in the search for food and to raise their cubs. But the sea ice on which they depend is changing, and in some cases, disappearing altogether.
Sean Hutton was just seven years old when he started the first Polar Bear Walk in 2013. Thousands of primary and secondary students from coast to coast to coast have joined Sean in walking with polar bears, raising more than $10,000 for wildlife.
Host a walk with your students on International Polar Bear Day, February 27, or any day during the months of February and March in support of Arctic wildlife. Register to get started.
Follow in the footsteps of Sean Hutton and join these schools to show that students across Canada can help protect the habitat of polar bears and other Arctic wildlife.
